Enough from me - let’s call in the professionals

The intent behind Fit In The Middle is to help people approaching middle-age - and those well and truly arrived - to get on top of their health and fitness to continue to live active and fulfilled lives, free of pain and restrictions. We focus on what I’ve called “the middle”- because there’s so much important stuff happening from your neck to your hips: spine, heart, lungs, digestion and the list goes on. There’s some important things going on a bit higher too and while I’ll touch on mindset, this isn’t a mental health resource. Great health and fitness helps our state of mind, for sure - but for support on mental health, start with a suitably qualified health professional.

I’ve figured there’s a couple of ways to go about things with Fit In The Middle and that’s why I’ve split the blog articles into two sections:

Does It Work” - these are tales of my own experiences, both the successes and the failures. You might learn more from my mistakes than anything else! I’ll look at things specifically from the perspective of our age group.

Getting It Together” - the ongoing assistance I get from a network of professionals helps me to continue to improve my health and fitness, instead of falling victim to the clock. No graceful aging here! In “Getting It Together” you’ll find information directly from them - articles, interviews, resources. Again, they’ll concentrate on what’s relevant to an age group (so if you’re 20 years old and reading this, you’re most welcome here - and please share this site with your parents!). Coaches, instructors, allied health practitioners - these are the type of people you’ll find here.

Do you work in these industries and have something to share with middle-aged Melbourne to help them with their fitness and health? Or are you a reader that knows someone with some fantastic information they could contribute to our community? Drop a message to Steve here and let’s make it happen!
